Lake Forest Park is one of the best places in El Dorado Hills for fall family photos, and this year marks my 6th year photographing here. It never disappoints! The park is famous for its row of vibrant red trees that only show off their brilliance for a short window every fall—then in just a matter of days, the leaves drop and the magic is gone.
Afternoons are especially stunning, with golden light before sunset making everything glow. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect backdrop, this is it—timeless fall color, a dash of magic, and memories you’ll love to hang on your wall.

I’m so excited to add Miner’s Ravine Nature Reserve in Granite Bay to this year’s photo session lineup! This beautiful spot has everything—rustic logs perfect for posing, winding paths to explore, and soft, glowing evening light that makes portraits feel timeless.
While you won’t find a ton of fall color here, you will get a classic, natural backdrop that works beautifully for family sessions any time of year. Think earthy, relaxed, and full of charm—perfect for creating portraits you’ll love for years to come.
Have your family in town? I'm offering session on the weekend after Thanksgiving. Most fall colors are gone at this time which makes this a great park.
